James A. Collier of Tampa, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017. The
Celebration of Life service will be held, Saturday, March 18th at 1:00
p.m. at The Word of His Grace Christian Fellowship, 2506 S. Parsons
Avenue, Seffner, FL 33584, with Apostle Samuel L. Phillips, Pastor,
officiating. Interment will follow at Orange Hill Cemetery.
Mr. James A. Collier was a native of Berkley, Alabama, born to the late
George W. Collier and Emma L Baldwin Collier. Mr. Collier joined Acklin
Methodist Church in Berkley, AL at a young age and relocated to Tampa FL
in the late 1960's. He was a faithful member of The Word of His Grace
Christian Fellowship, until his health began to fail.
Mr. Collier was employed primarily by Southern Mill Creek Trucking Co.
for several years, and in the late seventies he became an entrepreneur
owning his own cleaning service with his wife Ruby Collier. Mr. Collier
enjoyed spending time with his family, barbecuing and watching
television (westerns). He had a heart of gold and would do anything for
anybody literally “til the day he died”.
He was preceded in death by: his father, George W. Collier and mother:
Emma L Baldwin Collier; and 2 sisters, Sue N. Bell and Lucy M. PowelL.
He leaves to cherish his sweet kind heart and loving devotion: his
loving step-mother, Mary Collier; his forever faithful wife, Mrs. Ruby
Collier; 2 sons, Linnon (Cathy) and James; 4 daughters, Renae (Yelberton),
Angie, Teresa and
Elaine (Butch); 2 loving sisters, Georgia L. Davis and Juanita
Collier-Garcon (Frantz); 1 brother, Lawrence Collier; he also leaves a
great host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand
and great grand nieces and nephews, cousins, and very special friends.
If we forgot to name anyone during this trying time of great pain and
regards for our loved one. Please, we pray you forgive us and continue
to pray over our family for strength.
The visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 17 at Ray Williams
Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue and the
family will receive friends from 7:30
p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the chapel.
