Lavern B. McNeal of Tampa passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018.
Funeral services will be conducted, Friday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m.
at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue. Interment will
follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Lavern Burney McNeal
was a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a resident of Tampa for many
years. She was educated in the Jefferson County public school system
for a short period of time until relocating to Tampa, Florida with her
mother where she graduated from Robinson High School with honors.
Lavern was employed at Memorial Hospital for more than 12 years as a
Certified Nursing Assistant. She later became self-employed as a Home
Health Care Provider.
Lavern was a special person
who gave of herself wholly and to anyone that came in contact with her.
Mrs. McNeal was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Jones and
grandmother, Mary Carter.
She leaves to cherish her
memory: a very special friend whom she considered as a very very dear
adopted family member, Dr. Margaret Fisher, Tampa, FL; brother, Michael
Jones; two aunts, Mrs. Mary Ann (Arteris) Pittman, and Mrs Alma (Donald)
Wilson; 4 uncles, Mr. James Mathis of Tampa, FL, Mr. Johnny Orum of
Detroit, MI, Mr. Edward (Brenda) Mathis of Birmingham, AL and Mr.
Freddie (Patsy) Mathis of White Plains, MD; special nieces that were
dear to her heart, Mrs. Sharon and Patrick Watson; Toniette and Cedric
Wilson and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and other relatives and
