OBITUARY

Wilton Anderson of Brandon, FL, peacefully answered the call of his loving Savior as he departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 with family by his side. 

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 15 at 10 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Pastor, Larry J. Mouton Jr,  Pastor with Minister Bruce Bryant, Eulogist.  Interment will be held Monday, September 17th at 10:30 a.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241. 

Wilton was a native of Fort Worth, Texas and a graduate of Longview High School, Longview, TX. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of honorable service. Although he had many accomplishments throughout his life and career, Wilton was best known for his positive attitude, warmth and unconditional love he had for his family and friends.

He was a member of New Hope M. B. Church where he attended services regularly, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, previously taught Junior Boys Bible Study, Youth Ministry classes and was the Vice President of the Baptist Training Union. He also participated with joy in the Feeding the Homeless Ministry and he served on the Ministry to the Pastor Committee under the leadership of Rev. Dr. T. W. Jenkins, Pastor Emeritus.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James & Archie Anderson; grandparents, W. D. and Martha Anderson and Moody and Myrtle Lockhart; and a special cousin like a brother, Donald Anderson.  

He leaves to cherish treasured memories:  his devoted wife, Dellarine; his children, Aysia Anderson and LaToya Anderson, New York;  sister, LaTanya (Philip) Johnson; special nieces, Kia Haywood (Steven), Yeulanda Degala (Satish), and Tikila Brown; special nephew, Ryan Anderson; special cousins, Michael Anderson (Shayla) and Cathy Lawson (Stanley); aunts, Doris Adams and Betty Anderson; great niece, Layla Haywood; great nephews, Dylan and Braylan Haywood; mother-in-law, Retha Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law;  Bessie (Don) Carrie, Janie McCarthy, Mozella Dublin, Larry Brown, Shirley Brown, Andre Brown, Jacquelyn Brown, Wesley Brown, Carol Pompey (Randy) and Angela Brown; Godsister, NaTanya Miller; a  host of  extended nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members, friends at C.A.C.I., Seffner Christian Academy and New Hope Church Family. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, 12092 Magnolia Drive MBC - SOUNG, TPA 33612 or Life Path Hospice. 

The visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at New Hope  M. B. Church, 3005 E. Ellicott. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church at  9:45  for the service.
