Carter Eugene Davenport of Tampa passed away Thursday, August 2,
2018. Homegoing services will be conducted Saturday, August 11, at
11:00 a.m. at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace
Street, Pastor T. D. Leonard, Pastor with Minister William Cade,
officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Mr. Carter E. Davenport was a native and
lifelong resident of Tampa. He was the youngest child born to Deacon
King David Davenport, Sr. and Sister Gladys McDonald Davenport. Carter
was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a
graduate of Jefferson High School where he was a "Star Athlete". Carter
furthered his education at Bethune Cookman University. Mr. Davenport
worked for over 21 years in the Natural Gas Business as a Board
Certified Master Gas Technician.

Stennis Davenport; two loving children, Carter Eugene Davenport, Jr. and
Victoria Sabraya Davenport; one grandchild, Yalinah Marie Davenport;
sisters, Estella Davenport, Evelyn D. Bethune and Mary Collins;
brothers, Pastor Jesse Davenport, King Davenport, Jr., Roger Davenport,
Charlie Davenport and Woodrow Jones Davenport; uncles, Johnnie McDonald
(Sara) and Alfonso McDonald; aunts, Lillie McDonald, Veter Clinkscale
(Tyrone) and Dorothy Jacobs; brother-in-law, Eric Patterson;
sister-in-law, Gail Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
remains will repose after 5 p.m. Friday, August 10 at Ray Williams
Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
