Mother Bertha Mae Green of Tampa passed away Monday, January 29, 2018.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 10 at 2 p.m. at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace Street with Pastor T. D. Leonard, officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mother Bertha Mae Green was a native of  Americus, Georgia and a resident of Tampa for many years.  She attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a member of Mt. Tabor M. B. Church where she grew and worked in many capacities to include the No. 2 Choir.

She was employed as a Seamstress for a number of years for the National Linen Company.  She was a member of the Democratic Women’s League  and was a founding member of the Carver City- Lincoln Garden Homeowners Association.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Marshall and Lucille Jones Sr.; grandmother, Lydia Mae Thomas; husband of 68 years, Leroy Green Sr.; children, Leroy Green Jr., Renee Yvonne Green Davis, and step daughter, Phyllis Pratt; sisters, Fannie Mae Jones, Ella Mae Jones, and Lydia Mae Barrett; brother, Ulysses Jones; grandchildren, Tony Green, Melissa, Maurice and Jackie. 

She leaves  a living legacy to cherish her memories: 4 sons, Freddie Jones (Shirley), Leonard Green Sr., Ronald Green Sr. (Helen) and Anthony Green (Jacquelyn); 2 daughters, Michelle Green Dennard and Marita Webb-Argo; 22 grandsons, Marvin Pratt, Lamar Davis (Renee), Kenneth Webb (Gladys), Kareem Webb (Jessica), Nathan Dennard, Leroy Webb, Leonard Green Jr. (Sonia), Aaron Green, Rodney Brown, Terrence Jackson, Ronald Green Jr., (Jasmine), Leroy Green III, Joseph A. Green, Leonard Green, Ronnie Allen, Samuel Leroy Green (Kanisha), Edward Hearn, Tony Brooks (Yvette), Fred Williams, Edward Berry, Steven Berry and Jimmy Jones; 18 granddaughters, Lazette Willingham (Jeffrey), Angela Lewis (Dennis), Pamela Davis, Carol Davis, Jeneane Drummond, Ella Weaver, Shawn Pratt, Coquilla Toombs (Michael), Charlotte Pinder (Damien), Courtney Brown, Stephanie Mugin, Shavette Green, Timey Moore, Valerie Williams, Carolyn Williams, Ebony Green, Monique Green and Kenyetta Holt; a host of great-grands and great-great grands; 1 brother, Marshall Jones Sr., 2 brothers-in-law, Roger Barrett & Family and Benjamin Young; daughter-in-law, Anita Green; nieces, Jennifer (Jimmy) Delphine, Mary (Todd), Terri, Chris (David), Nikki, Paulette, Adella (Jerome) and Marshell (Johnny); nephews, Vincent (June), Alton, Rodney (Lisa), Eric (Karen), Mark, Kenneth (Linda), Marshall Jr., Harold (Rebecca) and Theron; as well as other sorrowing relatives, including the Hayes, Berryhill, Hamptons, McCall, Mileys, (Valdosta and Morven, GA) who carry her memory in their hearts. 

The remains will repose after 5 p.m. Friday, February 9 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue and the family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
