Earnest C. Morgan Sr. of Tampa passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 25 at 11:00 a.m. at
Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Pastor Donald
Mr. Earnest C. Morgan was born, July 25, 1948, in Forrest City,
Arkansas, to loving parents, Wilmon Morgan and Laura Smothers, whom
preceded him in death.
He moved to Florida over 50 years ago and soon thereafter met the love
of his life, Linda. Mr. Morgan was a Truck Driver for many years and
employed with Ryder Logistics and Alro Metals before retiring. He was a
gentle giant and loved by many. He lived in Wimauma, FL for many years
before moving to Tampa.
Earnest was also preceded in death by siblings: Wilmon Morgan Jr, Avlin
Morgan, Neamon Morgan, Nancy Shaw, Charlene Carter and Dorothy Hawkins.
Earnest was affectionately known as "Dagwood" and was a loving husband,
father, grandfather and friend. He leaves to cherish in fond memories:
a loving and devoted wife, Linda "Stine"; one son, Earnest "Tiger"
Morgan Jr.; one daughter, Alicia "Sherry" Morgan; three grandsons,
Devontae Morgan, Rodney Pertee & Radarius Pertee; two granddaughters,
Ambrea Morgan and Rihanna Pertee, one great grandson, Cameron Joseph,
all of Tampa; like sons, Shawn Austin, Henry Porter, Horace Porter,
Dontae Porter and Russell Stephens; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine
Stephens (Bruce) & Thomasina Sharp (Floyd); six brothers, Eugene Morgan
(Audrey), Dwayne "Charlie" Morgan, Melvin Keys, Charles Morgan, Orville
Morgan (Delois) and Gerald Morgan (Patricia); eight sisters, Lillie Bee
Langdon, Lela Gibbs (Charles), Katherine Morgan, Margaret Spearman,
Hazel Ross, Worlene Borders (Samuel), Angela Avant (Terry) and Vernell
Cleveland (Carliss); two step-brothers, Corneilus Fisher and Virtius
Fisher, and two special nieces, Patrice Carter and Lakisha Carter; and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special friends, Lewis
Cooper, Bennie Jones, Raleigh Nelson, Herman Gay, Roy Watson and Wilbert
The remains will repose after 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 24 at Ray Williams
Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
