Cynthia Diane Farmer of Tampa passed away Monday, May 6, 2019.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 15 at 11:00 a.m. at
St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church - Port Tampa, 7221 S. Sherrill
Street, with Reverend Correggio Reaves, Pastor, officiating. Interment
will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sister Cynthia Diane Farmer lived a life
dedicated to family and helping others. She was a native and resident
of Port Tampa and was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough
County, graduating from Robinson High School, Class of 1968.
She furthered her education and attended Florida Agriculture and
Mechanical University (FAMU), where she earned her Bachelor of
Administration degree in Business Administration in 1972. Her career
development then led her to live and work in Kentucky, Gainesville,
Jacksonville, and Ft Myers prior to relocating back to Tampa to continue
her career as a Retail Supervisor. She was employed as a Retail Manager
with Maas Brothers, Burdines, and ultimately Macy’s, from which she
retired in 2012.
She joined St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
"Diane" as she was known to most was preceded in death by her loving
parents, James C. Farmer, Sr. and Dorothy Rawls Farmer.
Diane is survived by: six brothers: James, Jr.; Kent (Joyce); Stephen
(Carolyn); Donald (Anita); Gerry (Joyce), and Gerald (Lisa); nieces and
nephews, Tracey Farmer Arsenault, James Neal Farmer III, Cassandra
Farmer Germain (Troy), Danielle Farmer Gordon, Kandace Farmer Flythe
(Jimmie), Stephen Tim Farmer (Tina), Erica Farmer, Melanie Farmer,
Joshua Farmer (Kaylah) and Jasmine Farmer; great-nephews, Al-Lateef,
James IV, Stephen III, Christian, Jordan, Jalen and Jrue; great-nieces,
Tranae, Kendall and Kori; an aunt; a host of cousins, extended family
and friends, Ladine Munford, Al Lewis, Betty Lewis, Carolyn Harris and
many church members and neighbors of Port Tampa.
The visitation will be held Tuesday May 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ray
Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
