Mr. Willie D. Johnson of Tampa passed away, Thursday, June 7, 2018.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. at New Bright and Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1805 N. Albany Avenue with Reverend R. Pierce, officiating.  Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Mr. Willie D. Johnson was a native of Canton, Mississippi and a resident of Tampa for over 60 years.  He was educated by the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a member of New Bright and Morning Star M. B. Church.  Mr. Johnson was employed as a Mechanic at Ernie Haire Ford. 

He was preceded in death by: his father, Coleman Johnson; mother, Mariah Johnson; sisters, Helen, Rosa Lee, and Ada Mae; and brother, Jack, all of Canton, MS. 

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Lizzie Johnson; his three daughters, Sabrina Johnson, Linda Johnson and Michelle Johnson (Steven); stepson, James Jones (Regina), all of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, Charles "Jay-R" Nelson, Jr., Nathaniel Williams (April), Shamara Brown, Deja Turner and Z'nai Villegas; four great grandchildren, Ka'hniyah Nelson, Ja'nysia Nelson, Ja'Mari Nelson and Julian "Ghost" Adams; all of Tampa, FL; sisters-in-law, Frances Johnson, Norcross, GA; two nieces, Debra Johnson, Concord, NC and Wanda Johnson, Dacula, GA; three nephews, George "Jerry" Johnson of Marietta, GA, Charles Thomas, Bronx, NY and Tracy Johnson, Bronx, NY; God-children, Tamara and George Cox, Pamela James, Willie "Snoop" Johnson, Latasha Campbell and Alyce Brown; dearest friends, "Slick", Johnny Knight (Barbara), John Reynolds, Sylvester Carver, and John Branham (Delphine); and a host of relatives and friends to include his New Bright and Morning Star Church Family.

The remains will repose after 5 p.m. Friday, June 15 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
