Stanley Lloyd Mortimer of Tampa, Florida was summoned by our
Heavenly Father to his eternal home on Monday, April 17, 2017. A
Celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at
2:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue,
with The Rev. Edward J. Henley, officiating. Interment will follow
in Memorial Park Cemetery.
was born on May 16, 1930 in Nassau Bahamas, and was a resident of Tampa
for over 60 years. He was educated in Nassau, and was presently retired.
Stanley was a faithful member of St. James Episcopal Church, currently
known as St. James House of Prayer Episcopal Church for more than 50
Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Carswell Mortimer,
his parents, Jeremiah & Catherine Mortimer, and ten of his eleven
He leaves to cherish his memory: his
children, Roncelea Mortimer, Roncel Mortimer (Vivian), Zelda Hall (Alfonza),
Denise White (Jerry) and Stanley Mortimer II (Shakennia); grandchildren,
Lashonn Foster, Roncel Mortimer (Faith), Rolando Mortimer, Shala Slate,
Roger Johnson, Jaleesa Gleaves (Freeman), Nishad, Nadia, Nickole, Nia
and Nathaniel Mortimer; great-grandchildren, Deshae Warren, Nevaeh,
Rolando Jr., Nina and My’Zhani Mortimer; brother, Samuel Mortimer
(Esther); sister-in-law, Wilma Jean Gibson; cousins in the Mortimer,
Dean and Carswell families; goddaughter, Fontaine Wells; special
relatives and friends, Samuel Sanders, Roland Sims, Luther & Cheryl
White, Valerie Goodman, Kim Mortimer, Handy Johnson, Gary Slate, and
Robert & Jacquelyn Reeder; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
in-laws and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
