Jannie M. Ray of Tampa passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. at
Hosley Temple CME Church, 3729 N. 15th Street with Reverend Anita D.
Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial
Mrs. Jannie M. Ray was a native of Arabi, Georgia and a resident of
Tampa for 75 years. She was educated in the public schools of Arabi,
Mrs. Ray was a member of Hosley Temple CME Church in Tampa, Florida
where she served on the No. 1 Usher Board.
She retired from the resident of Mr. & Mrs. Eli Bobo as a devoted
housekeeper and caregiver of their children, Ralph, Bobby, Silvia
(Mitch), Michael and also their grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. C. and Mattie B. Clark;
husband, Willie Lee Ray.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted daughters, Christine Moore
and Ellen Ruth Mickens, both of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Jacqueline
Thomas and husband, Clay, Anthony Moore and wife Jennifer, James Mickens
and wife Kimblery and Cassandra Mickens and husband Ira; all of Tampa,
FL; great grandchildren, Sharonda (Marlon), Iresha, Inesha, Ashley,
Kimesha, Jasmin, Jaynae, Tavon, James IV, Anthony, Jr., and Joshua;
great great grandchildren, Austin, Iyanna, Alani, Ira, Destiny, Naraiyah,
Blake, Aiden and Aliyah; sisters, Mattie B. Royal of Tampa, FL, Fannie
Davis and husband James of Ashburn, GA, Annie Mae Gaston and husband,
Robert of Tampa, FL and Rubynell Smith of Valdosta, GA; brothers, Willie
James Clark and wife Ann of Tampa, FL, and Calvin Clark and wife Claudia
of Cordele, GA; nieces, Diane (Joe), Grace, Gloria, Audrey, Deborah
(Billy), Veronica (Marlon), Gloria Jean, Barbara, Angela (Lavanugh) and
Pam; nephews, Charles Jr., Bobby, Rodney, John, Ronnie, Michael (Lutreya),
Robert, Jr. (Brenda), Fredrick (Robin), Jamie (Chaka), Alphonso
(Vanessa), Calvin Jr. (Larrisa), Zachery, Dondrell (Nina), Anthony Polo;
a very special caregiver/niece, Wanda Watson; a host of great nieces and
nephews; other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.
The remains will repose after 5:00 p.m.
Friday, August 16, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
